Private practice should offer autonomy without professional isolation. Psychologists retain responsibility for assessment, formulation and treatment decisions within Lumina’s clinical governance framework; we do not prescribe generic treatment scripts or expect every client to fit the same pathway. Alongside individual supervision, which each psychologist remains responsible for arranging, Lumina provides a monthly clinical consultation forum and opportunities for peer discussion, shared learning and practice development. Lumina is a planned psychological service with a defined clinical remit, not a crisis service. A transparent associate model: psychologists retain the majority of each clinical fee through a transparent fee-sharing arrangement. Lumina’s share supports referral development, administration, billing, systems, governance and continued investment in the practice. Rates vary by role, experience and referral source; full terms are discussed openly during recruitment. There are no exclusivity requirements.
More than an associate role
Associate Psychologist — Build a specialist caseload within your agreed areas and contribute to the clinical community. Senior Associate Psychologist — Recognises advanced specialist expertise, clinical leadership and wider contribution to colleagues and the practice. Specialist Service Line Lead — For experienced psychologists who want to build something larger: shaping pathways, standards, governance, consultation, clinician development and service growth. Leads may propose new areas where there is a strong clinical case and an opportunity to build a high-quality service. Service leadership carries additional remuneration linked to the service’s development; full terms are discussed during recruitment.

Clinical and professional review
If we both want to proceed, we’ll complete professional checks, the associate agreement and onboarding, then agree your specialist areas and regular availability.

Start building your caseload
Once onboarded, suitable referrals can be matched to you as they arise within your agreed specialist areas and availability.
We welcome appropriately registered practitioner psychologists whose expertise aligns with Lumina’s services, including Clinical, Counselling and Health Psychologists and those with relevant neuropsychology expertise. We look for strong assessment, formulation and intervention skills; demonstrable specialist competence; sound autonomous judgement; evidence-based, formulation-led practice; high standards of communication and documentation; appropriate registration, indemnity, supervision and governance arrangements; and an interest in contributing to a thoughtful clinical community. Senior and service-lead candidates should also bring relevant experience in supervision, clinical leadership, governance, service development or pathway design.
